Our Greenwood Scholars are trained to put their exceptional skills to use in a competitive career. Our mission at Greenwood Project is to expose Black and Latino students to opportunities within finance.  

A future Greenwood Scholar has four qualities:

We offer four weeks of training in Chicago, IL, at DePaul University. Upon successful completion of the program. We offer the opportunity of a six-week internship within the financial services sector.  

Placement into an internship will be heavily dependent upon major, skillset, and interests. As a symbol of your commitment and exceptional talent, you'll receive $20 per hour during the training program. The six-week internship is paid and will provide an experience that will enhance the trajectory of your career.  

Important Dates 

We accept applicants on a rolling basis. Applications open on October 13th and will close on February 15th. There will be TWO decision dates. December 1st and February 29th. We encourage all applicants to apply early.

Who should apply? 

We are looking for sophomores and Juniors to fill our next cohort. Candidates must attend a four-year accredited university or college in the US. Transfers from a two-year school must provide a transcript from your four-year university or college. We will consider all majors and encourage all majors to apply.  

Our Process 

The selection process will be a two-step process. We will require an applicant to submit documents in two phases. Upon acceptance into Greenwood, you will move directly into our onboarding process. During our onboarding process, you will be required to complete all assigned tasks, development sessions, educational sessions, coaching sessions, and program sessions before you are matched and placed into an internship. With the completion of all requirements, you are eligible to be matched to an internship with one of our corporate partners that will closely align with your skillsets, major, and interests.  

Do you Qualify? 

All Greenwood Project scholars are required to complete the four-week training, attend all coaching sessions, interview preparation, and development sessions.  

  • GPA – Not required but strongly suggest above a 3.2 GPA **3.0 considered

  • Sophomore or Junior 

  • 4-year accredited university 

  • Authorized to work in the US 

  • All Majors will be considered

Selection Process:   

Application Round Tasks 

We will conduct two interviews. Part one of the interview process will require you to submit a cover letter, resume, and formal application. 

Final Round Tasks 

Part two of the application process will require you to submit an official/unofficial transcript, a 500-word essay, a 2-minute introduction video, recommendation letter.
